ChronoSwiss Opus Skeleton: See-through Face

There is a certain allure to skeleton dials which reveal the inner heart of watches. Lately, a lot of luxury watch manufacturers have succumbed to this allure – ROMAIN JÉRÔME with its Titanic-DNA rusted steel T-oxy III Skeleton Chronograph Tourbillon, Vacheron Constantin with its Skeleton Perpetual Calendar, and, of course, Chronoswiss with the Opus Skeleton.

The ChronoSwiss Opus Skeleton is the first automatic chronograph with a skeleton dial. The movement which powers the watch, Caliber C.741S, is based on the ETA 7750. Unlike many other companies in the market, Chronoswiss provides information about mechanisms on which their movements are based rather than pretends that they were developed by the company itself. The movement of the timepiece has a 46-hour power reserve and cannot be damaged at a depth up to 30 meters.
The dial of the ChronoSwiss Opus Skeleton has been cut out to reveal the inner workings of the timepiece. Both from the front and back sides, the movement can be admired through a sapphire crystal. The time is indicated by the blue steel second, minute and hour hands and black markers. The skeleton silver-plated dial displays four counters of different sizes at three, six, nine and twelve o’clock. These counters indicate the date, 12-hour time, seconds and the 30-minute time, respectively.
The case of the ChronoSwiss Opus Skeleton measures 38mm in diameter and 15mm in height. The coin-edge bezel features a large onion shaped crown which makes the watch look classic. The crown is not of the screw-in type, therefore the watch is easy to operate.
The timepiece comes with a crocodile leather strap. The strap is attached to the case not with pins, but screws. This construction is more reliable and easy to handle, as the screws are more user-friendly and secure than pins.
